Before private practice, Leigh worked in refugee resettlement and community mental health, providing multicultural care to their clients. Those experiences contributed to their deep commitment to supporting folks’ journeys of growth and healing with a focus on individuality and the ways environment and culture shape us and our struggles.
Leigh’s approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and cultural humility. They believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine collaboration, where clients are empowered to explore their experiences without fear of judgment. Drawing from anti-oppressive, humanistic, compassion-focused, and evidence-based approaches, Leigh supports clients in building self-understanding, strengthening resilience, and creating meaningful change. Their style is warm, relational, and down-to-earth, often incorporating humor to foster connection and make even the most challenging conversations feel approachable.
Leigh has specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). CPT helps individuals identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs that may develop after traumatic experiences, creating space for healing and a renewed sense of control and connection. Depending on individual needs, CPT is typically completed in 12 to 18 sessions and can be integrated into treatment planning for clients seeking a structured approach to trauma recovery.
