Amy Ryan, MA

Amy believes that change and growth happen within a safe and secure relationship. She is here to walk alongside whoever walks in her office offering compassionate curiosity and deep insight. She meets clients where they are at and embraces ambiguity, humor (yes, there can be humor in therapy!), as well as the unique identity of each and every client.
Amy works with children who have experienced trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and behavioral issues. Amy works with parents and children together to promote healthy attachment, strengthen bonds, and foster an understanding of unwanted behaviors.

Amy pulls from attachment theory, family systems and strength based approaches with children and families. She uses non-directive and directive interventions that focus on integrating play and creativity into meeting desired goals. 

Amy is passionate about working with women and young adults around issues of trauma, religious/spiritual trauma, substance use, family planning, pregnancy choices, and dating. She pulls from Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and humanistic approaches when working with individual clients.

Amy works with couples who experience relationship distress pulling from Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman approaches to strengthen bonds between couples. Amy takes an active approach when working with couples.

Amy is LGBTQIA+ Affirming.

Amy dedicates time in learning about culturally sensitive approaches to treatment, unlearning personal racial/ethnic biases, and advocating for social change.
