Rachel’s warm and empathic demeanor allows people around her to feel comfortable being vulnerable when things or circumstances in their lives are tough. Rachel has an extensive background in psychology, in addition to experience working at a behavioral hospital for several years. In this setting, she predominantly worked with children, preadolescents, and occasionally adults. Rachel’s work in this environment led her to pursue her Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago. During this time, Rachel became passionate about working with individuals and families.

Rachel believes that therapy should not be a scary concept. Her goal is to make it as comforting and safe as possible. Rachel tends to pull from many different theories and therapy models including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, humanistic, family systems, and strength-based perspectives. She specializes in working with children and teens and she often incorporates creative interventions into her work with clients.
