Steve believes too many people go through life confusing their true self with the person folks would like them to be. He is honored to walk alongside clients as they parse their identities, meeting the authentic individual as they uncover new parts of their self. He specializes in working with individuals navigating trauma, CPTSD, emotional dysregulation, overwhelm, crises of identity/spirituality, existential dread, poly/kink/BDSM, and LGBTQIA+-related issues.

Steve takes pride in bringing compassion and care to sessions with his clients and uniformly sees them as people who are far more than the struggles that brought them to therapy. Before transitioning to private practice, he spent four years as a therapist in community mental health where he worked with many people at the corner of a number of intersectional identities. He takes great care in fashioning rapport and relationships around the unique, personal definitions of self. He is deeply curious and invested in both the similarities and differences that make all people uniquely complex.

Steve is an existential therapist who pulls from ACT, DBT, narrative therapy, and a number of trauma treatment modalities including EMDR. He has studied Zen Buddhism formally and first discovered his passion for helping people as a mindfulness teacher and Tarot card reader.
